Extortion??

Last night I posted a lost dog in the Salisbury area. I also called and emailed the SPCA to leave word that she was missing.

It turns out that she was found just a street away from her home within an hour after she went missing. The young man that found her called the Humane Society with her rabies tag info and they gave him number to call, which turned out to be the owner's work number. Problem is he wasn't at work, and that wasn't the number he had listed as his main number.

When the young man couldn't reach the dog's owner at the number given to him by SPCA, he then took her to SPCA as he didn't know what else to do.

When the owner called SPCA early this morning, he was told she was there, and that he could pick her up for the fee of $50. While he was happy to know she was found, he inquired why his personal number wasn't given out when the young man found her and called them. They replied that they must have entered the wrong number in their computer system.

Not only did they charge to return her for their mistake, but they also gave her a series of shots that she didn't need!
